Jacket Nr. 1
We wanted our first jacket model to be an elegant but deeply wearable tailored jacket. It is crafted in the Neapolitan tradition, with a relaxed, easy-wearing silhouette, minimal structure and just a touch of drama in the shoulders. It’s a jacket for the day and the evening. Wear it with tailored trousers or bashed up denim. Loafers, sandals, sneakers, bare feet if you’re lucky.
The fit
Our jackets are cut to a slim but not tight fit, with a relatively nipped waist and generous sleeves. They are not designed to be worn buttoned.
Check our size guide to make sure you’re ordering the right size. We recommend sizing up for something slouchier and more expressive (both models have taken one up from their normal size).
The fabric
Lot 1/24 is made up in a midweight, 260gsm summer blend of wool (65%) and linen (35%), woven in England by a fifth generation family-owned mill. With a strong wool content, it will carry you from spring into early Autumn.
The colour is a gently mottled taupe, with traces of brick red and flecks of bone from the “slubs” in the linen. It has a soft hand and good drape, and is wonderfully light-feeling to wear.
The details
Light, sewn canvassing across the chest and no padding (only modest spallini in the women’s, to help the shoulder profile).
Pronounced pleating (or mappina) at the shoulder as the more generous sleevehead has been hand-worked into the armhole, in a construction more common in a shirt sleeve (or spalla camicia). This is a typical Neapolitan flourish and makes every jacket subtly unique.
Generous lapels, a “butterfly” lining on the interior, patch pockets at the waist and a welt pocket at the chest. We wanted nothing superfluous on the jacket, so there’s just one button at the cuff and no buttonhole on the lapel.
Made in Martina Franca, Puglia, in a small workshop of around eight artisans. Each jacket is hand-numbered with a unique lot and piece reference. Limited to 30 pieces (for each of men’s and women’s).
